Ya en Cuba descubrí que era una trepadora y tenía ambición de escalar posiciones hasta la Habana. Se hizo amante de un oficial de rango superior y de mayor de edad de la Seguridad del Estado. Este la catapultó a alturas insospechables. Dirigió diarios importantes y aun comulga con el régimen en programas de la TV y de las mesas redondas. No la critico pues ese era su sueño desde joven en que se paseaba con ropas extranjeras y las gafas en la cabeza en un jeep del gobierno haciendo interesantes reportajes para el periódico nacional. Tiene talento para escribir y cara para mentir al pueblo con sus mentiras.

Un día una amiga me trajo envuelto en papel de estraza el libro “HISTORIA DE MAYTA” de un tal Vargas Llosa. Tenía 24 horas para leer el libro secreto. Era la historia de un guerrillero homosexual y su subalterno joven. Estaban enamorados. No había sexo explícito. El escritor explico después que el amor homoerotico entre los hombres no era más que un pretexto para marginar más aun al guerrillero.
Fue la primera vez que leí algo sobre un guerrillero homosexual.
Después en el exilio pude leer sus otros libros en las libertades de un país democrático.
Vargas Llosa fue amigo de Gabriel García Márquez hasta que un encuentro le propino- a Márquez- un sonoro puñetazo. Sin embargo, ese distanciamiento no se dio solamente en el plano personal, también se dio en el ideológico, ya que tras el arresto del poeta cubano Huberto Padilla por el régimen cubano, en 1971, un grupo de intelectuales decidieron marcar distancia de la Revolución cubana, no obstante, otro grupo decidió seguir apoyándola. Vargas Llosa estaba en el primer grupo, García Márquez en el segundo.

It was the story of a homosexual guerrilla and his young subordinate. They were in love. There was no explicit sex. The writer later explained that homoerotic love between men was nothing more than a pretext to further marginalize the guerrilla.
It was the first time I read anything about a homosexual guerrilla.
Later in exile I was able to read his other books on the freedoms of a democratic country.
Vargas Llosa was a friend of Gabriel García Márquez until an encounter gave him -Márquez- a resounding punch. However, this distancing did not occur only on a personal level, it also occurred on an ideological level, since after the arrest of the Cuban poet Huberto Padilla by the Cuban regime in 1971, a group of intellectuals decided to distance themselves from the Cuban Revolution. When I was in Nicaragua as a doctor, we exchanged correspondence where we talked about Virginia Wolf and Hermes Hemingway. She told me that I had made the wrong profession, that I should have studied a career more akin to that of Writer. Already in Cuba I discovered that she was a climber and had ambition to climb positions to Havana. She became the mistress of a senior and senior State Security officer. This catapulted her to unsuspected heights. He directed important newspapers and still communes with the regime in TV programs and round tables. I do not criticize her because that was her dream from a young age in which she walked around with foreign clothes and glasses on her head in a government jeep doing interesting reports for the national newspaper. He has a talent for writing and a face to lie to the people with his lies.
